After 20+ years of working in the fitness industry I founded MASS Method, a workout program dedicated to improving: Movement, Athleticism, Strength, and Speed.
My functional approach to fitness has been honed over the years through personal experience as a collegiate athlete, US Army Ranger, and Speed and Performance Coach.

Missouri | Truman State University

I attended Truman State University on a football scholarship where I got my degree in Exercise Physiology. While at Truman, I earned all-conference and all-region honors at middle linebacker. I was voted ‘Linebacker of the Year’ and selected as the team’s strength and conditioning athlete my junior and senior years. After graduation, I became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and worked as the football team’s strength and conditioning coach for one year before beginning a career as a sports medicine trainer.

10th Mountain Division | 3D Ranger Battalion

In 2006 I was working as a sports medicine trainer in southern California when I decided to join the US Army. I was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in 2007. During my time in the service I deployed to Iraq as a platoon leader with 10th Mountain Division and then again as a platoon leader with the 3D Ranger Battalion back to Iraq and then once to Afghanistan. I was awarded a Bronze Star for service during my time in Iraq in 2008 and again in Afghanistan in 2010. I completed my four-year service obligation to the Army in 2010 and decided to build a career based on my life-long love of fitness.

Through the years I’ve moved a good bit: Missouri, California, Georgia, New York, Illinois, Louisiana, and ultimately put down roots in Austin, Texas. I’ve been in Austin for the last 12+ years working as a Speed and Performance Coach for athletes that span in age from 9-79 years young. I love what I do and have built my personal ethos into a professional quest; empowering others to Always Be An Athlete.
